Down with the turkey and up with the steak

I think that instead of turkey on thanksgiving everyone should have something better. That thing that is better is steak. Why steak? Why not? Steaks sound better then a big twenty two pound turkey thats going to dry out. You cook the turkey for over twenty four hours to throughly cook it. the aroma of the turkey just lingers through the house and your mouth never keeps watering. All you can think of is how juicy that turkey is going to be until you have your first bite. That first bite is such a let down from the anticipation gained from just smelling it cook all day. Dry turkey meat is so hard to wash down your throat while a nice juicy steak never disappoints.

Steak has more protein and flavor than turkey. A lot of condiments go with steak, but not as many go with thanks giving turkey. You can enjoy your steak to the temperature of your liking. A steak doesn't have to be cooked throughly so you don't risk over cooking it and drying it out. Turkeys can carry the virus salmonella. Salmonella is not good if a human eats it. It causes all sorts of pain in your body. Where steak doesn't have as high of a risk to have salmonella. Thats why we should stop eatting gross dried out turkey eat a nice juicy steak.

My research topic

I am still keeping the topic I wrote about before. I really never have been comfortable writing about medical cannabis, I was always afraid to write about the subject in public school. I didn’t want my teachers to think I smoked cannabis. Plus I feared my principal calling my dad saying “we think your son is a drug addict.” No that’s not the case. My grandma has leukemia dormant in her blood and she use to take a lot of pain killers, which caused a bunch of other problems in her body. When medical cannabis was legalized in Michigan she got her medical cannabis card. I never really knew why it was legalized until the last paper we wrote.
The last paper was the only research I have ever done on medical cannabis. I didn’t know about all the harm a pain killer could do to someones body I just knew they were bad if they weren't prescribed to you. I learned about a lot about some of the side effects and how addicting they can be. To be honest I never listened to any of the stay away from drugs talks we had in school. My mindset was I never wanted to take them so why should I care about what the speaker is saying. But I have changed after seeing how a schedule I drug has medical purposes. What I think I'm going to argue is that medical cannabis is a safer alternative then most prescription medications doctors prescribe have today.

My compare and contrast summary.

A narcotic is an opioid and doctors prescribe these to patients to treat pain. Opioids have taken away a scary amount of lives. An alternative to opioid is cannabis and there are eight medical conditions for which patients can use cannabis. while opioid and pain killers are preferred method of doctors today, there is now a rebirth of one of the oldest remedies in history.

How to make hard choices
The TED talk I watched was “How to make hard choices” by philosopher Ruth Chang. She tells a story about how she decided her career when she graduated from college. She had the choice of being a lawyer or a philosopher. How she chose her first career was based off job security. She chose being a lawyer but she said after awhile it wasn’t the job for her. She chose being a decision-making philosopher. Ruth just sits in a chair all day and thinks about how to tell others how to make a hard decision. But she says not all hard decisions are this big, they could be as small as what to eat for breakfast. The Author believes that what makes a choice hard is the way the alternatives relate.

The TED talk I watched was boring. It was dry and hard to watch for the entire duration. I had to read the interactive transcript, because it felt faster then to listen to her speak. It wasn’t really a good TED talk.
